Hebrew letter "Shin"
The Priestly Blessing using the hand sign
The blessing used by Rabbis is found in Numbers 6:23-27.
The priestly blessing is given by rabbis upon the congregation with their arms raised and the fingers of each hand separated into 3 parts forming the Letter Shin, a symbol of fire, which the scriptures declare "... our God is a consuming fire."
With the fingers of the hand separated into three parts we again find the divine of the Hebrew letter Shin. (This is the same hand sign popularized on the Star Trek TV show by Commander Spock).
